WMSE’s Rockabilly Chili will return to Kern Center March 22

It may feel like winter will never end, but—believe it or not—spring is right around the corner. Need proof? Behold the annual announcement of WMSE’s Rockabilly Chili Fundraiser! The springtime shindig will return to the Milwaukee School of Engineering’s Kern Center (1245 N. Broadway) on Sunday, March 22, from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

The 24th installment of the wildly popular and delicious event will feature dozens of Milwaukee restaurants, cafes, and caterers competing in a variety of chili categories: Best Meat Chili, Best Veggie Chili, Best Heat, Most Unique, and Best Display. And yes, there will be a new hot sauce to go along with the event: 45 Tears, developed by Garden Fire Spice Co. to celebrate WMSE’s 45th anniversary.

“Rockabilly Chili brings people together in a way few events can,” says WMSE station manager Tom Crawford in a press release. “It reflects the creativity, pride, and sense of community that make Milwaukee special, and it remains one of the most anticipated days on our calendar.”

Advance tickets are $15, and are available NOW. Day-of tickets are $20, or $100 for a bundle of eight. Each ticket includes four chili samples, and additional samples are available for purchase. Want two additional sample tickets? Bring along two or more nonperishable food items for Hunger Task Force. Oh, and remember: the whole shebang is a fundraiser for WMSE!
