This past Sunday, oodles of Milwaukeeans flocked to the MSOE Kern Center for WMSE’s 15th annual Rockabilly Chili Fundraiser. Several hours later, they all went home and found a nice place to curl up and think about what they had done. But seriously: the 2017 installment of the radio station’s insanely popular and awesome chili blowout was one for the books, featuring more than 60 Milwaukee restaurants, cafes, and caterers serving up a cavalcade of chili samples to the masses. Live music from The Exotics, chili pepper races, and beer once again rounded out the fun.

So who were the big winners of this year’s Rockabilly Chili? Glad you asked. Per WMSE:

Best Meat: Gypsy Taco (Runner-up: Balzac Wine Bar)

Best Veggie: HiHat/Garage (Runner-up: Riverwest Co-op)

Most Unique: Hue (Runner-up: Old German Beer Hall)
