Friday the 13ths don’t come around too often, so one must use them wisely when they do. And while there are tons of things happening this Friday the 13th, there’s only one event that involves A.) goths, B.) a goth dance party, C.) Bingo, and D.) the chance of winning a bong shaped like Yoda.
Yes, Film Fatale—a.k.a. the Riverwest-based “movie club for people who like crime and sex”—and the increasingly popular Goth Barge—a.k.a. the DJ collective that organizes those goth boat parties—are teaming up for Goth Bingo, this Friday at 7 p.m. at Amorphic Beer. The sullen Bingo game will feature fog machines, a DIY corpse paint station, and tunes from the Goth Barge DJs. The grand prize? THIS:
Bingo cards are $3, or $5 for a pair. “All proceeds benefit incarcerated child trafficking survivor Chrystul Kizer,” says Film Fatale. Also: Goth Bingo “promises to be the dumbest Bingo event you’ll go to all quarter.” They say “dumb,” we say “inspired.”
And there’s more! After Bingo (or, as Film Fatale says, “after the daubers have bled out,”) the party will move to—where else?-Mad Planet, for a night of synthesizers, (sonic) depressants, and reverb.” Bless/curse you, Film Fatale and Goth Barge. This sounds like a Friday the 13th for the books. Long live Bong Yoda.
