UPDATE (3/17/2025): The West Allis Ventura’s Taco location will officially open at noon on Sunday, March 23.

In May 2021, Ventura’s Taco opened a brick and mortar location at 2899 S. Kinnickinnic Ave. in Bay View. Years before that, nearby residents knew Ventura’s from its perpetual presence near the post office on Oklahoma Ave., where its truck continues to park to this day. Locals might also find the truck set up outside Morgan Park on occasion and stationed at a variety of area festivals throughout the summer.
Soon, folks will also be able to enjoy their outstanding tacos (and other magnificent Mexican fare) outside of Milwaukee city limits. Monday afternoon, Ventura’s took to social media to announce it will soon be opening another location. They also gave followers a glimpse of the restaurant’s interior with a short video that accompanied the announcement. The second Ventura’s Taco will be located in West Allis, which has also welcomed expansion from established Milwaukee businesses like Camino, Twisted Plants, and Great Lakes Distillery in recent years.
Jorge Ventura Ramirez—who owns the restaurant with his brothers Juan Carlos and Isidro Ventura Ramirez—tells Milwaukee Record the new Ventura’s is located at 5823 W. Burnham St. The building was previously home to La Costeña Cafe before its closure in December 2024. Jorge says he’s expecting the West Allis location to open about “two weeks from now.” He says diners can expect “the most traditional Mexican dishes” like the ones they’ve enjoyed in Bay View for years.
