In this installment of our bi-weekly Food/Drink Roundup: Your Office’s incredible “Morning Commuter” breakfast sandwich, the return of Dairyland, and Downer Avenue smoothie news.
• In case you missed it, downtown bar/restaurant Your Office is officially open for business. It’s pretty great! Take a look!

Your Office may occupy the same space as the old My Office, 763 N. Milwaukee St., but it’s so much more than a new dive bar. For starters, it’s open from 7:30 a.m. to bar close, seven days a week. At night it’s a bustling hotspot with burgers, sausages, and spiffy craft cocktails to go along with on-tap stalwarts. And in the morning it’s a quick to-go breakfast spot, perfect for folks who either work downtown or pass through it each morning.

Oh, and Your Office has one of the best breakfast sandwiches we’ve had in years. Behold the “Morning Commuter,” a killer concoction that features scrambled eggs, cheese, “boss sauce,” your choice of sausage or bacon, and a full hash brown sandwiched between a toasted English muffin. It’ll put you back $9.50, and it’s absolutely worth it. RECORD RECOMMENDED.

• Burger joint Dairyland used to be in 3rd St. Market Hall, but it left earlier this year. The space is now occupied by burger joint Bebe Zito. Similarly, barbecue joint The Saucy Swine used to be in the kitchen of Redbar in St. Francis, but it, too, left earlier this year. That space will soon be occupied by…Dairyland! Huzzah! Perhaps you’ve read about it?

• And finally, for the first time in nearly 20 years, the entire space that used to house The Chancery on Downer Avenue is completely filled. In January, a local boba/bubble tea and cocktail bar called SereniTea Lounge opened in one half of the now-bifurcated space (2569 N. Downer Ave.):

And earlier this month, a national smoothie place called Tropical Smoothie Cafe opened a location in the other half (2575 N. Downer Ave.) How about that! Downer Avenue is now pretty much filled up! (R.I.P. The Chancery, which closed on Downer way back in 2007.)
