Looking for information on another impending business closure on Milwaukee’s East Side? Then you’ve clicked on the right article!
On Thursday, poke bowl restaurant FreshFin announced its East Side location, 1806 E. North Ave., will close January 31. FreshFin has been in the space since 2017. The business’ downtown catering and delivery service, along with its Bayshore location, will remain open.
FreshFin will close on the same day as its East Side neighbor, Beans & Barley. Beans announced its impending closure back in December.
The reason for the FreshFin closure? “This decision is part of the company’s ongoing growth strategy and reflects a thoughtful evaluation of its locations and long-term business plan as the brand continues to evolve,” a press release explains.
“From the very start, the East Side location was an important investment in our growth,” says FreshFin co-owner Andrew Foster in the press release. “It allowed us to build our brand, learn what works, and expand thoughtfully. As we continue to grow, we regularly evaluate how and where we operate to best support our customers, our team, and the long-term health of the business. This decision reflects that strategy.
“Our people are what make FreshFin special,” Foster adds. “We are incredibly thankful for every team member who has been part of this location and the impact they’ve had on our business.”
The press release also explains that “all East Side team members will have the opportunity to apply for open positions at other FreshFin locations in the Milwaukee area.”
“We’re also thankful to the Milwaukee community for its support over the years,” Foster says. “The East Side location will always be a meaningful chapter in our story, and we’re excited about what’s ahead as FreshFin continues to grow and evolve.”
Other recent Milwaukee closures include The National Cafe, Pomona Cider Co., and Bavette La Boucherie. Grim times.
