Doesn’t it usually seem to work the other way around? Instead of freaking out about [insert name of Chicago chain] coming to [insert name of Milwaukee suburb], this time it’s a Milwaukee-based business that’s expanding across state lines and opening a location in the Windy City.
According to a press release, Colectivo Coffee broke ground on its first Chicago location this week. The cafe will be located at 2530 N. Clark in the city’s Lincoln Park neighborhood. The shop will be Colectivo’s 17th location and, more notably, the Wisconsin business’ first out-of-state shop. The 1,800-square foot cafe will offer a full arsenal of Colectivo roasts, Letterbox Fine Tea, items from the Troubadour Bakery (in addition to a full breakfast and lunch menu), and signature Colectivo beers.
The Lincoln Park Colectivo is expected to open in fall.
