Stuff We Missed looks to other Milwaukee publications (and beyond) for, well, stuff we missed throughout the week. This week: ‘Top Chef’ and nothing else.

Life sure is unrelenting, isn’t it? Between the regular run of writing, meetings, ad sales, event production, and general maintenance that comes with owning and operating a hyper-local entertainment publication based in Milwaukee, we were doing it shorthanded this week due to one half of Milwaukee Record daring to seek some semblance of work/life balance by taking a rare vacation out of state.

It’s honestly no problem. We still friggin’ killed it this week with top-notch coverage of local music, art, dining, sports, and smells. Hell, I even broke an exclusive story about a popular Bay View bar closing after 15 years and I managed to sell a few of our knit hats that people seem to hate. Though we covered a lot of ground this week, our skeleton crew composed of, well, me missed out on being able to write about the biggest piece of local news to drop this week.

Yes, I’m sad to say I was temporarily unchained from my desk the morning Top Chef announced that Season 21 of the popular Bravo series—which was primarily filmed in Milwaukee, as well as other parts of the state—will be premiering on March 20. Not only that, this season will feature none other than Milwaukee’s own Dan Jacobs as one of the competitors.

That’s all legitimately awesome and exciting news…that I couldn’t turn around into an article in a timely manner because I was, like, in a meeting and on the phone with our accountant or whatever. Fortunately, literally every other place in town AND a ton of national publications did something on it, so our lapse in coverage wasn’t really a big deal. However, if you missed the Top Chef news somehow, please enjoy this article that links a bunch of other articles about it.
