Hey! Milwaukee! Let’s all chip in, raise about $639,900, buy the iconic East Side bar Paddy’s Pub (2339-2345 N. Murray Ave.), and not turn it into something awful like luxury apartments or whatever! How ’bout it?

Yes, as first reported by Urban Milwaukee, the 25-year-old Irish bar is for sale and is “ready to develop.” Husband-and-wife owners Orlen “Woody” Wood and Patricia “Patty” Phillips are retiring, you see. According to a Shorewest Realtors listing, the “prime East Side corner” is just waiting for someone (namely us) to raise nearly $700,000 and “develop [our] dream investment.” Like a bar, maybe? Yeah, let’s keep it a bar.

But that’s not all! As the listing suggests, the entire corner is up for grabs. That includes two houses immediately to the north—one of which is “tear-down” ready. Here’s the full listing:

2339 N Murray Ave 2345, Milwaukee, WI 53211-4404 – Calling all investors! Prime East Side corner ready to develop. Three family, tear down duplex and iconic Paddy’s Pub bar on one parcel. Slab parking for 2-4 cars. Three unit: 4 BD upper (former market rent was $1200/mo temporarily $650/mo); 2 BD first FL (current $800/mo); 1 BD first floor ($700/mo). Owner pays heat and electric. Separate meters exist. Duplex is a tear down (not showable). Pub and two buildings were on two separate tax keys but are now on same tax key. Taxes and square footage per city records for entire parcel. One water lateral to three unit. No water to duplex (was on same lateral but disconnected by owner). Buy the corner and develop your dream investment. P and L available for bar. Owners retiring.

“A potential redevelopment of the Paddy’s property, without acquiring more land, is likely to be more in line with the townhome developments that can be found in the blocks to the north than the developments along E. North Ave. to the south,” says Urban Milwaukee. Hmm. Too true. Let’s start pooling those pennies now!
