Halloween is over, but that doesn’t mean the spooky fun has to end. For evidence—a lot of evidence—look no further than the annual “Ghost-Its” installation from Milwaukee writer, poet, and musician Zack Pieper. Made up of 4,000 post-it notes, each containing a unique magic-marker line drawing of a ghost, the exhibit is a celebration of illustration and order, of expression and pattern. The ghost drawings range from playful to hilarious. They’re a delight to see and discover in person.

This is Pieper’s eighth “Ghost-Its” show; previous installments have taken over the windows of places like Green Gallery and Riverwest Radio. The 2021 show is up now at Real Tinsel Gallery (1013-1015 W. Historic Mitchell St.), though it’s not quite complete. To see the 100% complete show, check it out on Tuesday night. After that, all 4,000 post-it notes will be removed, gone and vanished like, well, ghosts.

Oh, and here’s our favorite ghost. Check out “Ghost-Its” and find one of your own.
