You’ve enjoyed nearly four decades of the original Gallery Night MKE. You’ve enjoyed nearly 15 years of the Bay View Gallery Night. Now buckle up for a new neighborhood-specific celebration of art and art-adjacent stuff: the East Side Gallery Night!
Yes, the inaugural East Side Gallery Night is set for Friday, July 18, in and around the always busy intersection of North, Farwell, Ivanhoe, and Murray. From 5-9 p.m. folks can expect artist showcases, pop-ups, and live painting in neighborhood businesses; drink and dining specials in neighborhood bars and restaurants; and live music and community art in Ivanhoe Plaza (pictured above). Will it all be capped with an installment of Black Cat Alley After Dark—complete with a silent disco—from 6-10 p.m.? Yes it will.
“From gallery pop-ups and artist showcases to community art and exclusive food and drink specials, this event offers something for everyone—whether you’re an art enthusiast, casual browser, or just looking for a fun night out,” a press release reads. “It’s a chance to discover new local talent, connect with small businesses, and experience the East Side in a whole new way.”
The East Side Gallery Night is free and suitable for all ages. Oh, and it’s sponsored by PKSD and ye olde Milwaukee Record! See you on the 18th! (And yes, the original Gallery Night MKE is the same night!)
