Last month, we got you ready for another Milwaukee Admirals season by listing some of the beloved AHL organization’s promotions they have planned for the 2024-25 season. Though the collection of giveaways, ticket deals, Dog Days, Princess/Superhero Nights, and Pat McCurdy post-game concerts the team originally featured seemed enticing enough to bring folks out to the arena, it turns out the franchise had some other surprises up the sleeve of its hockey sweater.
Yes, since that October 1 article, the Ads have unveiled even more promotional plans—including a few pretty notable ones. Some nice new additions include Green & Gold Glory Night (featuring appearances by Robert Brooks, George Koonce, and Ed West) on December 21, a Salute To Wrestling Night (featuring The Dudley Boyz) on January 3, and a post-game concert by 38 Special on February 8. However, one newly-revealed Admirals promotion really takes the cake.
On Tuesday, February 25, the Admirals will celebrate “Salute To Cowbell Night” at UWM Panther Arena. In honor of the occasion, they’re bringing the guy who had the fourth most lines in the famed “More Cowbell” Saturday Night Live sketch that aired in the year 2000. No, we’re not talking about Chris Parnell or Horatio Sanz. None other than Chris Kattan will “be on hand for laughs, hockey action, and plenty of cowbell!”
Personally, we think Kattan—who’s exponentially more regarded for standout SNL characters like Mango, Mr. Peepers, and one of “The Roxbury Guys,” as well as for starring in films like A Night At The Roxbury and Corky Romano—could be celebrated for some of his other, significantly larger roles. Especially since the Ads will (quite literally) be giving fans more cowbell with their “Cowbell Night” scheduled to take place just three days later.
There’s still time to add things like a Mr. Peepers apple eating race between periods, a head bob camera set to “What Is Love” by Haddaway, or a love-struck Roscoe trying to touch the Mango. Hell, we honestly wouldn’t hate a full-on rebrand to “A Salute To Kippy Strug.” Get in touch, Admirals. We’re here to help!
