Local eateries serve up second annual Milwaukee Vegan Restaurant Week Nov. 2-8
Thirty-six local small businesses from bakeries and distillers to pizzerias and taquerias to host events, offer specials and create new menu favorites to showcase the diversity of Milwaukee’s restaurant scene
Milwaukee Vegan Restaurant Week is back. To celebrate local vegan and vegan-curious diners, 36 restaurants have teamed to host the second annual awareness week. The grassroots effort, designed to feature small businesses and celebrate the area’s best plant-based menu items and those who love eating them, runs Nov. 2-8.
Timed to the first full week of National Vegan Month, Vegan Restaurant Week 2026, sponsored by Visit Milwaukee, is the dream come true of Café Corazón Owner and Milwaukee Vegan Restaurant Week Founder Wendy Mireles.
“When we established Milwaukee Vegan Restaurant Week last year, our hope was simple,” Mireles said. “We wanted to spotlight the many options we have for dining out in our amazing city. Just like we do at Café Corazón, we don’t want folks to eat our vegan menu items because the dishes are vegan. We want guests to love our vegan offerings because they are delicious and just happen to also be vegan.”
Mireles added: “My original dream was an annual tradition that continues to expand and evolve each year. To have 36 different local businesses sign up again this year is a testament to Milwaukee.”
In 2026, Milwaukee Vegan Restaurant Week welcomes five new participating local small businesses. The only ask of joining restaurants: Offer at least one vegan item on their menus Nov. 2-8. Free for restaurants (and diners) to participate in, there’s no added registration, cover charges, or tickets needed to join most Vegan Restaurant Week activities. “The best part is Milwaukee Vegan Restaurant Week empowers all of us to support the local food scene one great night out at a time,” Mireles added.
