Milwaukee Landmarks Light Up Blue & Yellow to Support Brew Crew; Fans Called to Show Their Brewers Spirit on Friday, Oct. 8
MILWAUKEE – Claws Up Milwaukee! The Brewers, City of Milwaukee and Milwaukee Downtown, BID #21 today celebrated the start of the Club’s fourth consecutive postseason with an announcement of several Milwaukee buildings and iconic landmarks lighting up Blue & Yellow. Dignitaries called on fans to show their spirit by wearing their favorite Brewers gear on Friday, Oct. 8 and flood social feeds with #ClawsUpMKE, as the Brewers take on the Atlanta Braves in their first game of the National League Division Series (NLDS).
“We are showing our colors, literally, in support of the Brewers. As the playoffs begin, the City of Milwaukee wishes the team continuing success throughout the month of October,” Mayor Tom Barrett said. “We are cheering, decking out the city, and declaring Milwaukee is enthusiastically behind our Brewers.”
The City of Milwaukee is beaming with pride and the Department of Public Transportation, Milwaukee Fire Department and Milwaukee County Transit are showcasing Brewers flags and messaging, while the Hoan Bridge will be illuminated in Blue & Yellow throughout the postseason.
“Each day on my drive to the ballpark, I see more banners going up around the city and buildings lighting up,” said David Stearns, Brewers President – Baseball Operations. “It’s exciting to see the city rally around this special team and the fan support is unparalleled. The enthusiasm continues to build, and we look forward to a memorable postseason.”
Milwaukee’s landmarks will light up from dusk to dawn, beginning at 7 p.m. today and remain on throughout the Brewers postseason run. In addition, fans will see banners throughout the City showcasing the postseason rally cry “Claws Up!”. Drone footage of the city’s skyline available by Thursday, October 7.
