To help kick off the 11th annual Milwaukee Comedy Festival, Milwaukee Record invited an impressive group of local comedians and media professionals to Club Garibaldi to make fun of our fair city. The second annual Roast Of Milwaukee featured a diverse cast of comics, writers, and radio personalities taking the stage before a packed house to take some verbal swings in Milwaukee’s direction…out of a place of love, of course. If you weren’t among the 120-plus people who attended the Tuesday night affair, you’re in luck. We recorded it.

This extra special episode of On The Record is a live recording of the unforgettable night of city-centered commentary. Among those who took on Milwaukee’s neighborhood differences, flag debacle, segregation, drinking tendencies, and upstart entertainment publications were Big Show radio host Ramie Makhlouf (3:00), OnMilwaukee senior writer Molly Snyder (7:10), as well as comedians Ton Johnson (18:00), Marisa Lange (27:40), Jacob Bach (37:30), Tyler Menz (46:45), Chastity Washington (56:20), and Christopher Schmidt (1:06:40). It’s also worth mentioning the Roast Of Milwaukee provided more than just laughs. The event doubled as a benefit. We raised money and collected non-perishable food donations for Bay View Community Center.
