It’s not even Memorial Day yet and it’s already shaping up to be one of the busiest and best festival seasons in recorded Milwaukee history. Want yet another event to add to the ever-growing list of summer entertainment undertakings that will be happening in and around Milwaukee in the coming months? Okay!
On Saturday, July 13, Puddler’s Hall (2461 S. St. Clair St.) will shut down the street in front of the bar in order to host the 4th annual Rock Party Block Party. From noon to 9 p.m., the Bay View block party will feature a winning mix of homegrown live music, food from local vendors, and goods from area artists.
True to its name, Rock Party Block Party will offer a steady diet of guitar-driven local bands, including a rare-ish outing by Telethon, a reunion of ’90s rockers Strokin’ Mother Pokehole, and polka hip-hop band November Criminals. There will also be DJing by Buzz from WMSE’s “Buzz’s Garage” between sets. Here’s the lineup (in order of set time):
12:00 p.m. start — Thick Needles
1:15 p.m. — November Criminals
2:30 p.m. — Combustor
3:45 p.m. — Two And A Half Stars
5:00 p.m. — Local Legends
6:30 p.m. — Strokin’ Mother Pokehole
8:00 p.m. — Telethon
There will be some local artists on-site selling their work, as well as the return of the Punk Rock Rummage Sale that will bring more than 20 vendors to the event. Do you think you’ll be hungry at any point on July 13? Well, your future self can enjoy a wide selection of eats from a stacked cast of area vendors that includes the following: Twisted Plants, Juniors BBQ, Ventura Taco, LuLu Cafe, and party pizza from Puddler’s Hall.
There’s no cover for this all-ages, all-day event! We have no idea where we’ll be July 15-18, but you can find us outside of Puddler’s Hall on Saturday, July 13. We hope to see you there, too.
