Last fall, when we spoke to Nile—a.k.a. NilexNile on streaming platforms—about his breakout 2021, the Milwaukee rapper was poised to follow up his most productive year to date with even bigger and better things in 2022. Less than halfway into the year, he seems well on his way to accomplishing that goal.

On top of winning over thousands of people at Mitten Fest back in February and doing three sets around town this past Milwaukee Day, Nile will also be performing at a few notable local festivals this summer. Moreover, he’s about to hit the road for a short Midwest tour, he’s been working on new material (and was featured on a new Guerrilla Ghost track), and he even performed at SXSW. While in Texas for the massive music festival back in March, Nile took to the streets of Austin to shoot a music video.

The video for the .SAGE-produced NilexNile single “Yute” is one part tour diary, one part lyric video, with dashes of live performance incorporated as well. The entirety of the video was filmed in Austin by videographer Carter Green on March 20. As we wait and see what’s next from NilexNile, you can watch the “Yute” music video below.
