Milwaukee is chock full of things to do, but only a handful of Milwaukee events are worthy of the lofty honor of “Record Recommended” (patent pending). Here are our recommendations—brought to you by Lilliput Records—for February 3-9, 2025.

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 4

WMSE’s Local/Live: Spacecrime @ Anodyne Walker’s Point Roastery
“WMSE is excited to invite you back to Anodyne in Walker’s Point on Tuesday, Feb. 4, at 6 p.m. sharp for another free, all-ages edition of Local/Live, with Spacecrime and special guests! Prepare for lift-off with Spacecrime, the cosmic moniker of Milwaukee-based producer John Brander. With over 15 years of sonic exploration, Spacecrime has become renowned for his futuristic, sample-infused hip-hop instrumentals. Masterfully fusing elements of hip-hop, electronic, and experimental music, he creates soundscapes that are truly out of this world.”

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 5

Cowboy Killers Comedy Show @ Falcon Nest
Looking for some laughs in the middle of the week, in the middle of a never-ending winter? Then look no further than the Cowboy Killers Comedy Show, hosted by Milwaukee comedian Raegan Niemela. This installment will be headlined by Luise Noé, and will feature sets from Connor O’Hara and Hailey Kiefer. Doors open at 7:30 p.m., and tickets are $15.

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 6

Goose @ Miller High Life Theatre (through February 8)
“Goose + 3 Nights + Miller High Life Theatre = One EPIC February weekend in Milwaukee. Goose released their debut album in 2016 and quickly took flight, playing countless shows while steadily amassing a fervent fan following for their unique brand of irresistible songcraft, fluid musicianship, and spirited improvisational performance.”

Tyler, The Creator + Lil Yachty, Paris Texas @ Fiserv Forum
Less than six months removed from the release of his acclaimed new album, CHROMAKOPIA, Tyler, The Creator takes the stage in Milwaukee for the first time in close to seven years. Lil Yachty and Paris Texas (the rapper, not the former Milwaukee indie band) kick off this Fiserv Forum affair.

Midweek Music: Hayward Williams @ Crafty Cow (Bay View)
Hey! We’re bringing our free Midweek Music concert series back to Crafty Cow in Bay View! There’s NO COVER for these all-ages shows, which run from 7-8:30 p.m. The series begins this week with a performance by Hayward Williams, and wraps up with an outing by as Oak on March 27. And if a free weeknight show isn’t already great enough on its own, Crafty Cow will offer $4 pints of its delicious Crafty Cow Lager (made by 3 Sheeps Brewing) during all Midweek Music concerts. They’ll also have meal deals available during each show.

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 7

WMSE’s Art & Music @ Pritzlaff Building
For the eighth year, Art & Music—an art auction fundraiser for WMSE 91.7FM—will take place at the Pritzlaff Building and showcase art and music as a means of generating support for the community-powered radio station. This event is billed as multi-sensory and immersive, touting “art, music, and good vibes” for the whole family. The art will come in the form of 175 pieces that were made local artists and are up for auction. Music will come from WMSE DJs and Nineteen Thirteen. There will also be food available from area food trucks, as well as refreshments from local breweries and distilleries on sale.

Hanna Simone + Ben Mulwana, Charlee Grider @ Anodyne Walker’s Point Roastery
“Hanna Simone is a 25 year old American singer songwriter from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Influenced by Brandi Carlile, Jewel, and Adele, Hanna Started performing in Nashville as a solo artist at age 16. After relocation to Milwaukee, she put together a talented and close-knit band that compliments her style and originality. In a live setting, a driving passion is evident as her blues vocals blend with the high-energy rock edge provided by the musicianship and creativity of her band. Intricate lyrics, matched with her timbre, demonstrate her musical sensibilities as an independent artist. Hanna aims to persuade the audience to feel a real musical connection and intimacy with lyrical vulnerability and honesty.”

Pabst Theater Group’s “$10 Buck Show” returns in grand fashion this weekend, as an outstanding grouping of Milwaukee acts prepare to play The Pabst Theater. Collection Of Colonies Of Bees will head things up, with opening support from Alicia Rytlewski (playing the release show for her debut album, When We Were Bears), and the forever-fantastic Field Report. That’s one heck of a show, especially for only $10!

Sean Patton @ The Laughing Tap
Comedian Sean Patton has performed on network television talk shows, been a frequent fixture on Comedy Central stand-up showcases (including his own half-hour), released a few outstanding comedy albums, and has likely been a memorable guest on some of your favorite podcasts. He’s also an actor who has a recurring role on the great new FX series, English Teacher. Now a certified Milwaukee regular thanks to the fine folks at Milwaukee Comedy booking him in recent years, he’ll come to the Milwaukee Comedy-owned and -operated Laughing Tap in Walker’s Point for two shows on February 8.

“Join us for the Twelfth Annual Guitar Festival and Concert and Youth Competition featuring master classes with internationally renowned talent, workshops focusing on classical guitar careers and exploration of other styles.
