Back in February, we alerted you to the news of Milwaukee Record being named in the initial field of nominees for the 2026 Wisconsin Area Music Industry (a.k.a. “WAMI”) awards. Well, following a competitive few weeks of voting and tabulation, we’re pleased to inform you we’ve advanced to next round of voting. We’re officially finalists, baby.

Yes, WAMI opened its final round of voting this week. This time around, WAMI is asking for a minimum $5 donation to the organization in order to be able to vote for the “full slate” of categories. However, Milwaukee Record is part of the People’s Choice Vote, which does NOT require a donation. We’re in the “Website” category, which also includes Tone Madison (RIP, buddies!), That ’90s Band, and Isthmus.com as fellow finalists.

Other categories include Milwaukee-area finalists like Cactus Club, X-Ray Arcade, Lilliput Records, photographer Ty Helbach, musician Gabriel Sanchez, Pabst Theater, Chill On The Hill, 88Nine personality Erin Wolf, WMSE, and more. This voting period runs through midnight on Sunday, May 3. The 2026 WAMI Awards will take place at Madison’s Atwood Music Hall on Sunday, May 17. You can learn more about that event HERE.
