It’s only the middle of February and Milwaukee is already in a mad dash to release its festival dates. In case you blinked and missed all the action, allow us get you up to speed on some recent festival-related developments.

In the last week alone—as we were pondering whether it’s possible for there to be too many festivals in the city—Brady Street Festival announced it was moving its 2024 installment up a week from its usual date to take place on July 20, Summer Soulstice Music Festival set a date of June 15 for its 2024 edition, Milwaukee Metal Fest posted the full lineup for its May 16-19 return, and Milwaukee Psych Fest released the lineup for its ninth event that’s coming to The Cooperage May 10-11. Oh, and Festa Italiana is moving way up on the festival calendar from its usual late-summer weekend to the decidedly spring dates of May 31 to June 2.

That’s already a lot to take in, but since your calendar is already out, you should probably fill in Sunday, June 9 as well. That’s the date of this year’s Locust Street Festival. The long-running and all-around awesome Riverwest block party made its return last June for the first time since 2019. It was great! Over the weekend, organizers took to the festival’s Facebook page to post the date of 2024’s Locust Street Festival. The post also says a vendor application is “coming soon.” (That application will likely be posted here eventually, so keep checking.) Additionally, organizers encourage bands who are interested in performing at this year’s Locust Street Festival to “contact bars that sponsor stages individually.”

Stay tuned to this here website for the Locust Street Festival lineup sometime this spring. In the meantime, do yourself a favor and keep Sunday, June 9 open for one of the city’s best fests.
