Back in February, we formally introduced you to L’Resorts, the new “tropical-pop” project spearheaded by Lady Cannon namesake Martha Cannon and Jaill founding member Vincent Kircher. In the months since announcing their presence, the exciting new project that started as a duo rounded up an eclectic cast of all-star Milwaukee musicians to forge a full-fledged band. With the addition of five members who boast past and current ties to the likes of Jaill, Sat. Nite Duets, Ruth B8r Ginsburg, Soda Road, and The Hatchet, L’Resorts have started to become a fixture in the live music scene, with appearances at last month’s Burnhearts/Pabst Street Party, the inaugural Turner Hall Tiki Takedown, and a variety of other stacked local bills. Along the way, they also put the finishing touches on the self-titled debut full-length.

After getting a sample of the band’s warm, breezy, and timeless stylings when they put out the trippy music video for the 13-track album’s lead single, “Yeah Everything,” last month, L’Resorts is allowing us to help you send your ears on an all-expenses-paid island getaway with its second single. “Separate Oceans” is a slow-tempo, easygoing effort that finds Cannon and Kircher’s vocals playing off one another atop a soft bed of light and sunny instrumentation. Before L’Resorts is released on July 19, you can hear “Separate Oceans” now, only on Milwaukee Record.
