Milwaukee’s summer festival season pretty much has it all. However, if there’s one thing the overwhelming abundance of seasonal fests, block parties, and weekly music series lacks, it’s a shortage of concerts that take place at gorgeous courtyards during the late morning and early afternoon hours. Until now!
Enter Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum‘s “Café Sopra Mare” series, which brings free live music performances to the iconic East Side museum’s incomparable Mercury Courtyard every Sunday between June and September (excluding July 14) from 10:30 a.m. through 12:30 p.m. During that two-hour span, attendees can take in concerts from a wide range of area performers than run that gamut in terms of style and sound.
True to the “Café” portion of its name, Café Sopra Mare also has Abyssinia Coffee and Rishi Tea available for purchase. Once again, these concerts are free, but admission rates apply to those who wish to explore the Villa and its gardens.
