Milwaukee event planners have a knack for cramming in as much entertainment as possible into the year’s three or four non-awful months—i.e. summer. The same can be said for Milwaukee artists. Take Siren, for example, who has been busier than most over the past few weeks. The singer—a.k.a. Katie Lafond—performed with New Age Narcissism at Locust Street Festival, and dropped in on the Summerfest sets of Lex Allen, WebsterX, and Kiings. Not a bad start to a “How I Spent My Summer Vacation” essay.

Also on Siren’s plate: a new single called “Queen Medusa.” Produced by Moses, the song is as seductive as it is deadly, featuring a chill and deceptively spaced-out vibe coupled with lines like “I’m Queen Medusa / Turn your flesh into stone / Use your bones for my throne.” Looking for a summer song perfect for making out and brushing up on Greek mythology? Look no further.
