On Friday, January 19, Milwaukee Record hosted our fourth annual Local Coverage show at Turner Hall. There, a diverse cast of eight Milwaukee acts took the stage to perform (approximately) 15-minute sets of another project’s material. Best yet, the concert doubled as a benefit, with all profits raised being donated to Milwaukee Women’s Center. Even though we might be a little biased, it was nothing short of awesome. More than 300 people came out to support our cause and to take in a once-in-a-lifetime Milwaukee music collaboration.

Including private donations, show profits, beer sales, raffle earnings, and sponsorship, Local Coverage 2018 raised a record total of $8,218. Yes, attendance was a bit down compared to the last two years, but we’re still so proud to have played a part in bringing Milwaukee musicians, businesses, and local music fans together for a fun and charitable show unlike like any other in town. Thanks to all who helped make Local Coverage great.

As we’re preparing to finally make our full donation at the end of the month, we thought we’d offer those who didn’t make the show an opportunity to hear some of what they missed and give those who were in attendance a chance to listen back to some highlights.

You can download it now (name your price). All proceeds will be added to our Milwaukee Women’s Center donation. Thanks again to all the musicians, sponsors, and all those in attendance who made the show so incredible. And a huge thanks to Matt “Darkman” Kolata from WMSE for recording, mixing, and mastering nearly the entire concert. (Apologies to De La Buena.)

Enjoy Local Coverage 2018 all over again. Oh, and we’ll see you at Turner Hall on Friday, January 18 for next year’s Local Coverage benefit!
