We’re rapidly approaching end-of-year lists season, and it’s very, very safe to say that Collections Of Colonies Of Bees‘ 2025 album Celebrities will be all over our best/favorite Milwaukee music lists. It’s a sprawling, joyous, and boldly unafraid record, with the long-running Bees (Chris Rosenau, Marielle Allschwang, Daniel Spack, Ben Derickson, Matt Skemp) at their post-rock best. If you haven’t already fallen under its spell, take a listen:
CoCoBees (blessedly) played a ton of shows in 2025, but what about videos? It’s been years since a new CoCoBees video dropped! But fear not! All that (blessedly) changed this week with the release of the Joe Shea- and Tom Grimm-directed clip for one of Celebrities‘ best songs, “You Can Go Again.” It features the band, dancer/choreographer Ezra Mercy, and an otherwise empty Vivarium. It’s fantastic. Dance like no one is watching, indeed.
“Strong collaboration between partners in the film and music community was the only way we could make this video,” Grimm says, “and in my opinion that adds to just how perfectly it turned out. This video is proof positive that being able to pivot on a dime is often what makes the creative process such a beautifully unique human experience.
“No AI was used in the production of this music video,” Grimm adds. Obviously. Blessedly. Enjoy.
