Last summer, we broke the story that rapper and financially troubled booze peddler 50 Cent would be signing bottles of Effen brand vodka at the Woodman’s in Oak Creek. Then we attended said signing. Then we went on TV to talk about attending said signing. Finally, we posted artsy photos of Scrimshaw frontman Robert Thomas dropping his 50 Cent-signed bottle of vodka. After all that, we figured that was the end of this weird and faintly sad tale of a hip-hop mainstay working against his debt in southeastern Wisconsin one autographed Effen vessel at a time. We were wrong. That end was just the beginning. 50 Cent is coming back to sign more bottles of vodka.

Between the hours of 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. (though probably much later in actuality) on Thursday, April 28, Mr. Cent will make an in-store appearance at Twins Food Mart (1812 16th St., 262-632-3642) in nearby Racine. This time around, customers are encouraged to pre-buy a $19.99 bottle of Effen to guarantee they’ll get an opportunity to meet that guy who used to be famous. Welcome back, Fifty. We’ve missed you.
