And the hits just keep on coming. Urban Beets, the vegan cafe and juicery that first opened in Milwaukee in 2016 and later expanded to Wauwatosa and Brown Deer, announced Thursday afternoon that it will close its Brown Deer location (5091 W. Brown Deer Rd.)—its last remaining establishment—on January 31. The original Milwaukee location closed in 2020. The Wauwatosa location closed in 2024.
“After much consideration, we have made the bittersweet decision to close the cafe,” reads a social media post. “Urban Beets is truly embedded in our hearts forever, and the last decade much more than we could have dreamed. Our sincere love, gratitude, and respect for everyone who joined us along the way.”
