There’s no bar in Milwaukee—or the world, for that matter—quite like The Mothership. Since opening in April 2019, the Bay View bar has served up more Hamm’s and Campari than any other establishment in the state, offered up accessible riffs on elevated cocktails, added a permanent food truck to its property, weathered a worldwide pandemic, and changed the way businesses interact with their customers (and Yelp critics) online. It’s only been four years, but it’s hard to imagine Milwaukee without a place like The Mothership. Frankly, we don’t want to think about Milwaukee without The Mothership.

On Sunday, April 23, the bar will celebrate its fourth anniversary in grand fashion. Similar to the last two anniversary parties, The Mothership will be enlisting some special guest bartenders from establishments they love and respect. This year’s lineup features bartenders from California Clipper in Chicago, Nordic/Heavy Metal-themed cocktail bar LBM out of Ohio, and an extra special guest appearance by the award-winning bartender LP O’Brien, who recently won Netflix’s Drink Masters and was the official bartender for this year’s Emmy Awards.

Beyond that impressive cast of cocktail professionals, The Mothership will have a special food pop-up (which will be announced on the bar’s Instagram account soon), High Life available in bottles for that day only, a new T-Shirt designed by Denver (by way of Milwaukee) artist Dale Novak, giveaways, and more.

“This day is very important to us because it’s not just a celebration of Mothership, but also a celebration of the service industry professionals in Milwaukee and beyond that we respect and care about so much,” owner Ricky Ramirez tells Milwaukee Record. “The party knob will be turned all the way to 69.”

Save the date, travel safely, and take off work on Monday. This one’s going to be fun!
