Stuff We Missed looks to other Milwaukee publications (and beyond) for, well, stuff we missed throughout the week. This week: even MORE more Milwaukee food news!

• It started with a Milwaukee- and Wisconsin-tastic season of Top Chef. It continued with Egg & Flour Chef Adam Pawlak attempting to Beat Bobby Flay. Now, Milwaukee is celebrating not one, but TWO more big food stories. What a week!

Okay, both stories involve current Top Chef contestant Chef Dan Jacobs, but they’re still cool as hell. First, Jacobs and his EsterEv and DanDan partner Dan Van Rite will host a “Guest Chef Series” at EsterEv throughout the rest of the year—featuring fellow Top Chef contestants! The six-installment series kicks off in April and wraps up in November. [Milwaukee Magazine]

• If that wasn’t enough, both Jacobs and Van Rite are up for the Best Chef Midwest award in the 2024 James Beard Awards. (The Dans and other Milwaukee chefs and restaurants made the semifinals back in January.) Winners will be announced June 10. [Milwaukee Journal Sentinel]

• And yes, that’s Jacobs and Van Rite in a 2019 installment of our “Shot For Shot With Chefs” series. Please don’t hold that against them, James Beard Foundation. [Milwaukee Record]

• Okay, what the hell, one more food thing: The Wolf on Broadway made Midwest Living’s “Best of the Midwest Travel Awards.” Great job, The Wolf on Broadway! [Midwest Living]

• The legendary Turf Skatepark is currently being resurrected in Greenfield. To help with the looooong-in-the-works project, a fundraiser concert has been set for June 15. The lineup is a doozy: Agent Orange, The Crosses, Convert, Scam Likely, Bug Moment, Wave Chapelle, Rusty P’s with Dana Coppa, The Exotics, and Fastplant. [OnMilwaukee]

• Speaking of shows, Great Lakes Distillery and WMSE’s terrific “Chicken Shack” show will host an outdoor concert and whiskey release at the distillery on June 1. “Sippin’ & Strummin’ With The Chicken Shack” will feature live music from Them Coulee Boys, The MilBillies, and Luke Callen. [OnMilwaukee]

• Need a beer to go along with your enjoyment of downtown’s Sculpture Milwaukee? Then check out Company Brewing’s new Sculpture Milwaukee Monumental IPA, which is being released in support of Sculpture Milwaukee’s 2024 season. [Milwaukee Business Journal]

• Food trucks are currently banned on W. Capitol Drive, though the Milwaukee Common Council may “create designated spots for approved operators on W. Capitol Drive between N. 76th Street and N. Mayfair Road., an approximately two-mile-long stretch.” [Urban Milwaukee]

• Lance Allan was let go from TMJ4? Ridiculous! Sorry to hear that, Lance. Best of luck! (Let us know if you’re willing to work for cheap.) [OnMilwaukee]
