Do you feel it in the air? It’s almost dark beer’s time to shine! Yes, porters, stouts, and all things barrel-aged are starting to make their presence known on local store shelves and on area draft lines of late. It’s one of the only truly great things about late fall and wintertime in Wisconsin.

On Saturday, December 9, MobCraft Beer will bask in the darkness when its celebrates its 6th annual Stout Fest at its Walker’s Point brewery and taproom. From open until close, MobCraft will have more than 20 of its stouts and other “dark and malty” options available on draft. The event—which is being billed as “a sweater party for your insides”—will also serve as the release of MobCraft’s annual Padishah Imperial Stout, as well as some Padishah variants that have been aged in Great Lakes Distillery and Central Standard barrels. Oh, and if you need a break from the dark stuff (or you’re stout-averse for some weird reason!), MobCraft is making sure to keep a few draft lines open for decidedly lighter beer options.

In addition to the beer on hand and the broad ugly sweater theme, Stout Fest will also feature hammerschlagen out on the taproom’s burn barrel-heated patio, as well as other indoor and outdoor activities and contests to be announced. Stay tuned for that info as the event approaches. In the meantime, saved the date for Stout Fest!
