Milwaukee Record is working in partnership with Urban Cat Coalition to help find loving homes for area cats. Each week, we—with generous sponsorship from Skilos, A Family Pet Store—plan to highlight a feline friend that’s currently up for adoption by naming it “Milwaukee Record’s Cat Of The Week.” This week: a little guy called Vader.

Meet Vader. With his serious little face and dark, striking tabby markings, Vader might look like he’s plotting to take over the galaxy…but give him a gentle pet and you’ll feel his true power: the purr side.

At 2.5 months old, Vader is still working on his confidence. He’s a bit shy with new people and may retreat at first. Once he decides you’re safe, then out comes the purr machine, the sunny window loafing, and the quiet and gentle affection that makes earning his trust so rewarding.

Vader is the perfect fit for a calmer home where he can continue blossoming at his own pace, with patient humans who’ll let him warm up on his terms. He loves other cats and would enjoy having a feline buddy (or one of his siblings!) to help him feel secure. If you’re interested in a pair, Vader’s sibling Runt is also available for adoption.
