Some big new additions are coming to downtown food hall 3rd St. Market Hall. If you’re a fan of burgers, chicken sandwiches, and ice cream, you’re in luck! (Oh, and drip chocolate and candy, too.)

First up is Bebe Zito, opening on Friday, August 29, in the space formerly occupied by Dairyland. Similar to Dairyland, Bebe Zito will offer hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, and homemade ice cream. Bebe Zito has locations in Minnesota, and is co-owned by Ben Spangler and Gabriella Grant (above). Grant is a MIAD graduate. Bebe Zito’s 3rd St. opening was first announced in June.

“We’re ready to officially open Bebe Zito on Friday the 29th!” Grant says in the press release. “Our approach has been to learn our space and operations without overextending ourselves. We want to make a big, positive, and memorable first impression with our Milwaukee diners, so attention to detail while embracing exceptional hospitality to each guest was and is a top priority.”

Here’s more info on Bebe Zito, from the press release:

Bebe Zito is excited to offer the Bebe Burger (A beef & bacon ((pork)) patty, American cheese, special sauce, Grandma Connie’s pickles and lettuce.) Cheese Curds (beer battered white cheddar cheese curds served as a square), Honey Butter Chicken Sammy (A buttermilk fried chicken thigh, honey butter special sauce, Grandma Connie’s pickles and lettuce served on a potato bun), Honey Butter Chicken Tendies, (2 Tenders in our honey butter sauce, a side of fries, coleslaw, special sauce, toasted bun), and more comfort food favorites in addition to their made from scratch ice creams.

But that’s not all! The same press release teases the opening of two more concepts in 3rd St. Market Hall: a drip chocolate joint called, well, Drip Chocolate; and a candy shop called, well, Can-D Shop.

Drip Chocolate comes from Tim Szuta and Greg Kieckbusch of Market Hall vendor Rod & Makk. “The duo has paired up with Jada Baake to bring Dubai Strawberry cups, Dipped Cheesecakes and Cookie Fries along with new frappes (Dubai Chocolate Iced Coffee for example) to their new downtown venture,” the press release explains.

As for Can-D Shop:

3rd Street Market Hall is excited to welcome Can-D Shop, a locally owned candy shop specializing in handcrafted sweets and nostalgic favorites, to our lineup of Milwaukee’s best restaurants and small businesses. Can-D Shop is a modern twist on the classic candy store experience, specializing in your favorite memorable candies, including chewy saltwater taffy sold by the pound. Guests will also find a wide selection of chocolates from Wisconsin chocolatiers and other unique seasonal sweets. Guests are encouraged to create their own custom mix for a sweet, personalized treat. This new addition continues the Hall’s mission of celebrating local entrepreneurs while offering guests a one-of-a-kind food and retail experience celebrating our all things local in the heart of downtown.

Can-D Shop owner and operator Darnell Williams said, “We’re thrilled to bring Can-D Shop to 3rd Street Market Hall and give Milwaukee a sweet spot for all ages. We’re proud to feature locally crafted chocolates that give visitors a true taste of Wisconsin. From classic saltwater taffy to exciting global trends and the candies you grew up loving, every visit will bring back memories and create a magical experience!”

Opening dates for Drip Chocolate and Can-D Shop have yet to be announced.
