Last month, Twelve12 Hospitality Group announced plans to change the name and concept of Bumstead Provisions. Owners Mike Bodow, Devin Eichler, and David Eichler said the restaurant, which originally occupied two attached Bay View storefronts (2671-75 S. Kinnickinnic Ave.) but quickly found the grocery and deli half of the space being transitioned to a second location of the group’s successful Oconomowoc-born Crafty Cow burger joint, was to become a fried chicken place.
Hot Head Fried Chicken will reportedly serve a variety of poultry preparations, as well as macaroni and cheese, grits, and other southern-influenced delicacies. Since announcing the change, Bodow and Eichler have been focusing on winding down Bumstead and getting their third venture in the building open. We now know when that will be.
Last night, Bodow posted an image of Hot Head’s logo on Facebook along with the restaurant’s opening date, September 12. We’ll get you more details on Hot Head’s menu as they become available. Until then, get ready, Bay View. Hot Head is coming!
