Since opening its taproom in a relatively secluded section of Riverwest in the summer of 2017, Gathering Place Brewing Company has quietly established itself as one of Milwaukee’s best craft breweries. Along the way, founder/award-winning home brewer Joe Yeado and company have earned a growing presence on area draft lines and store shelves as Gathering Place’s beer arsenal has steadily evolved and improved. With five years now in the books (some of which were during a worldwide pandemic), it’s a great time for Gathering Place Brewing to celebrate.

They’ll do just that on Saturday, August 27 when the brewery hosts a celebration of “good beers, good company, and good times” in the form of the Gathering Place Brewing 5th Anniversary Block Party. From 2-10 p.m., the business—located at 811 E. Vienna Ave.—will be bustling with a winning blend of beer (including two limited edition anniversary releases), live music, food, and local vendors. Gathering Place has the beer part handled. Meanwhile, Looney Lumpia will be on-site selling snacks from 4-8 p.m. and Plants On The Street will be selling plants during that same time frame. From 3-8:30 p.m., the block party will get musical accompaniment from the likes of Ricky Orta Jr., Nathan Mayfield (of JazzMenMKE), and Jabril Yousef.

Celebrate five years of Gathering Place and wind down your summer in style at the 5th Anniversary Party on August 27. Go to Gathering Place’s website for more information. Prost!
