After 15 months in business, East Side Italian restaurant L’Incontro, 2315 N. Murray Ave., has closed.

The restaurant made the announcement Wednesday on social media. It’s last day of service was Monday, July 7.

“This has been a difficult year for many of us and, unfortunately, small businesses are also feeling the squeeze,” the announcement reads. “As first time business owners, it has just sadly become unsustainable.”

Here’s the full announcement:

Paul Piotrowski and Juneil Cabreza opened L’Incontro in April 2024. It replaced Tavolino, which closed suddenly in October 2023.

East Siders looking for an Italian fix will have to wait until fall, when Nadi Plates plans to open in the former Crossroads Collective space, 2238 N. Farwell Ave.
