Following more than two and a half years on the corner of Lennox Street and Kinnickinnic Avenue, Cream City Swirl will no longer be in business, at least not as a traditional shop. The Bay View frozen yogurt joint and crêperie announced it has closed in a Facebook post:

“CCS would like to extend a BIG THANK YOU to all of our patrons over the years for supporting, enjoying and indulging. We will no longer be operating as a brick & mortar location.”

The post also mentioned Cream City Swirl will be continuing to sell crepes at local events, including the South Shore Farmer’s Market.

After numerous delays that pushed back Cream City Swirl’s launch, the business finally opened in April 2014. We stopped by days into its existence and enjoyed our experience (and returned a few times thereafter). However, with peak frozen yogurt season ending soon, Cream City Swirl is scaling back and departing from a one block stretch of Bay View that features Vanguard, Honeypie, and is about two weeks from Bumstead Provisions’ long-awaited opening.

The neighborhood isn’t lacking when it comes to things to eat. Still, Cream City Swirl’s closing leaves Bay View with one fewer family-friendly hangout, one less option for low-key dates, and short one place for a change of pace at breakfast time. Farewell, Cream City Swirl. We’ll see you at South Shore Park.
