Back in July, we delivered the unfortunate news that Wisconsin’s only remaining Big Boy restaurant—which was located in Sussex for less than a year following a two-year stint in Germantown—was closing. However, it wasn’t all bad news, as that unfortunate announcement also came with news the Wisconsin Big Boy franchise tag was sold to a new ownership group that planned to open a new Big Boy in Wisconsin Dells this fall.
Today, Big Boy of Wisconsin Dells officially opened ahead of schedule. Located at 701 Broadway Ave., the just-opened location will offer many of the Big Boy favorites that have been enjoyed for generations, as well as some new menu items. Unlike the fast casual format in Sussex, the Dells location will mark a return to a classic, sit down restaurant focus. There will reportedly also be live music on occasional, along with events like music bingo, Big Boy After Dark, and the world’s largest collection of Big Boy statues on display.
