Have you been missing the communal joys of watching films with strangers? Are you not yet sick of Facebook/Instagram/Twitch livestreams? If you giddily answered YES to both of these questions, you’re in luck: Tonight at 8 p.m., via Facebook Live, we’ll be resurrecting our creepy, kooky, and altogether ooky Milwaukee Record LiveSCREAM Theater. We did five episodes last year for the 2019 Milwaukee Film Festival (watch one of the episodes below), and now we’re bringing the series back for these strange and socially distant times. Oh, and the whole thing is sponsored by Lakefront Brewery. Fun!

Like last year, LiveSCREAM Theater will be a live-on-the-internet viewing party of a classic public domain horror film. (Tonight’s flick: the 1959 William Castle classic House On Haunted Hill!) Unlike last year, there won’t be any guests, so you’ll just have Milwaukee Record’s own Matt Wild (that’s me) walking you through the film, dispensing trivia during the breaks, and delighting you with more than a few delightful surprises. Want to comment along on Facebook as the film rolls? YES. YOU SHOULD TOTALLY DO THAT. JOIN IN!

As for the overall vibe, think a cross between Mystery Science Theater 3000 (but with less “riffing”) and classic horror movie hosts like Joe Bob Briggs, Elvira, and Svengoolie. Seen House On Haunted Hill 8,000 times already? Who cares! It’s all about watching Vincent Price at his most Vincent Priciest together. We’ll see you on Facebook at 8!
