Some Milwaukee things come and go while some become icons. Mandatory Milwaukee is all about the latter. This week: Watching the greatest Milwaukee-made Thanksgiving movie of all time. What is it? Well…

It’s 1999’s American Movie, directed by Chris Smith, produced by Sarah Price, and featuring Mark Borchardt (we love ya, Mark) and Mike Shank (we miss ya, Mike). If you’ve never seen this classic Milwaukee documentary, see it for the first time. (You can rent it digitally for $3.99.) If you haven’t seen it in a while, see it again. (Again, you can rent it digitally for $3.99).

Oh, and do it during Thanksgiving week, because it’s a fantastic Thanksgiving movie. Move over, Planes, Trains And Automobiles.
