It’s a scientific fact that nothing beats October. The weather is awesome, Halloween is lurking around the corner, and businesses go nuts with “Rocktober” and “Shocktober” events. In the case of the latter, the Avalon Theater and Times Cinema are going especially nuts with “Shocktoberfest,” an October-long (and parts of late September and early November) blowout featuring some terrific horror classics and a few spooky family-friendly-ish selections. Want to see Halloween, The Exorcist, The Shining, and A Nightmare On Elm Street on the big screen? Look no further. How about Hocus Pocus, Ghostbusters, or Beetlejuice? You’re in luck.
