Even though every weekend of the summer—or every weekend between mid-May and the end of October, really—offers an abundance of festivals, block parties, fairs, and other ambitious civic celebrations in and around Milwaukee, some weekends are noticeably busier than others. In fact, some single days within a weekend here offer more in the way of large scale happenings than some cities see all year. It looks like this summer’s “perfect storm” of Milwaukee events in going to take place on Saturday, September 6.

Apologies for using the term “storm” after Saturday’s events, but there’s really no other way to put it when approximately a dozen massive events are set to take place in the city and its surrounding suburbs on the same day. We’ve already told you about a few of them and we have just learned about others. If you’ll be in town on Saturday, September 6 and want to try to plan the best course of action to attend at least a few of these things, here’s a list of, well, most of what’s going on in Milwaukee that day.

Silver City Fest @ Silver City (National Ave. between 32nd and 35th Street)
From noon to 5 p.m., the annual festival will offer live music performances, an eclectic blend of local dining options, work from area artists, goods from retail vendors, children’s activities, and much more. More info here.

TosaFest @ Wauwatosa Village
The annual event—which started way back in 1976!—will take place for yet another year when it returns to the streets of the Wauwatosa Village on Friday, September 5 and Saturday, September 6. Prepare for live entertainment on three stages, food vendors galore, youth-focused “Kids Zone” activities, a vendor market, a volleyball tournament, Oktoberfest, tons of nearby bars and restaurants to explore, a cheese curd eating contest, and more. More info here.

Milwaukee Polka Riot @ Linneman’s Riverwest Inn
It’ll be a good old fashioned polka party at Linneman’s Riverwest Inn when Milwaukee Polka Riot returns for over six hours of genre-specific celebration. The Polkaholics, Sigmund Snopek III, Good Friends Klezmer Band, The Frantastic Sound System, and November Criminals will bring the tunes. DJ Shotski and DJ Brumeister will keep the music going between bands.

Wildflowers On The Water @ Lakeshore State Park
“The 3rd Annual Wildflowers on the Water will include live music, local artists and creators as well as food trucks, a community drumming circle, and activities for the youth and general public. In collaboration with Friends of Lakeshore State Park, Wildflowers on the Water aims to raise awareness of Milwaukee’s premier urban lakefront destination through live music, art, local vendors, and activities.” Check out the lineup and learn more information here.

Steny’s 40th Anniversary Block Park @ Steny’s
One of Milwaukee’s most beloved bars, restaurants, and shuttle bus staples is turning 40 and they’ll be celebrating the milestone anniversary with three days of fun. Steny’s 40th Anniversary Block party will take place September 5-7. During the weekend-long party, Second and National will be closed down for the “biggest party in Steny’s history,” which will feature food trucks, live music, specials, and appearances by bartenders from every decade of the bar’s past.

UHBC Summer Block Party #3 @ Urban Harvest Brewing Company
As Steny’s is doing its thing a few blocks away, another Walker’s Point business will be hosting a block party of its own. Urban Harvest Brewing Company will be hosting its third Summer Block Party from 1-8 p.m. on September 6. During that span, the brewery will release a new imperial maple brown beer, offer food from the Roll MKE food truck, and feature a live performance by Heartland Howlers.

Layman Brewing’s 5th Anniversary Beer Garden Bash @ Layman Brewing
Out in West Allis, Layman Brewing will transform its parking lot into a German-style beer garden for its 5th Anniversary Beer Garden Bash. From 2-8 p.m., there will be ample outdoor seating, beer specials, a pig roast dinner for purchase, and musical accompaniment by the Happy Shotski Polka Combo.

Milwaukee International Short Film Festival @ Avalon Atmospheric Theater
If you’re looking for some indoor enjoyment over the weekend, head to Avalon Theater for the 2025 Milwaukee International Short Film Festival, which will bring blocks of local shorts, panels, podcasts, and more to Bay View screens September 5-7.

Great Riverwest Rummage Sale & Flea Market @ Riverwest (Burleigh and Fratney Street)
From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., a parcel of Riverwest near Art Bar and Wonderland will be home to a massive urban yard sale. The Great Riverwest Rummage Sale & Flea Market will bring tons of sellers and food vendors to the neighborhood for a day of bargains and fun.

IKEA Frank Mots Int’l Kite Festival @ Veterans Park
Go fly a kite! No, we mean it. IKEA Frank Mots Int’l Kite Festival will return to Veterans Park on Saturday, September 6 and Sunday, September 7. There will be pro kite flying teams, giant kites, and “grand launch” of more than 600 kites. Saturday’s installment runs 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
