Bay View Bash is a bittersweet affair. The bitterness is brought by the stinging realization that festival season is almost over and yet another awful winter is on the way. We’re all going to die and there’s nothing anybody can do about it. The sweetness comes with the fun festival finale that’s taken root in the heart of Kinnickinnic Avenue between Potter and Clement avenues for about 12 hours each September.

Thankfully, the weather cooperated for this year’s Bay View Bash—which took place Saturday, September 16—to allow thousands to flock to the neighborhood causeway for a day of live music, liberal libations, festival food, vendors, games, and an underlying dash of oddity that all came together to make this end-of-summer event one for the ages. In the midst of all the action, Milwaukee Record was able to snap a few photos we feel capture the spirit of the day. Enjoy! [All photos by Kristy Tayler unless otherwise noted]
