For the eleventh year, Milwaukee played host to a winning wintry mix of live music, rare and delicious craft beer, tasty food and barrel-aged cocktails, locally-made wares, and charity that all came together outdoors to form “Mitten Fest.” For the first year, it was NOT hosted at Burnhearts. Instead, hosting honors went to Boone & Crockett, which stepped in to give the beloved event a temporary home for 2024.

As always, Mitten Fest brought in considerable donations to Hunger Task Force. Dozens of beer kegs and barrels of brandy were enjoyed by a massive number of festivalgoers who gathered inside and outside of the Harbor District bar on an unseasonably warm Saturday to watch a stacked local music lineup perform.

In short, it was great. Though we could mention our favorite moments, perhaps pictures and a “Bert Alert” segment from the incomparable Bert Lauderdale would do a better job illustrating the spirit of Milwaukee’s favorite winter party. (All photos by Bert Lauderdale and Tyler Maas.)
