UPDATE: NORA WAS ADOPTED!

•••

Milwaukee Record is working in partnership with Urban Cat Coalition—a local organization that’s dedicated to creating a no kill community by humanely reducing the cat population in the Milwaukee area through targeted trap-neuter-return (TNR)—to help find loving homes for area cats. Each week, we plan to highlight a feline friend that’s currently up for adoption by naming it “Milwaukee Record’s Cat Of The Week.” This week: a playful gal named Nora.

Meet Nora. Nora has that gorgeous gray and rust tortoiseshell coloring, a poofy, floofy tail, the most stunning caramel-colored eyes. Her fur is soft as silk. Like many supermodels, however, she’s got an attitude (or tortietude!) for days.

Her biggest vice is little love nips: “Hey, pay attention to me! No, now stop paying attention to me! Now give me some food! Now pay attention to me again! Pet me! Don’t pet me!” We believe once she has a home of her own, space to roam, and no other competition for your attention, this behavior will subside. Think about it…if you were full of kitten energy and shut in a small bedroom 24/7, you might get a little nutty yourself!

Nora is very curious and loves exploring everything. She isn’t a big cuddler, but she will sit in your lap or curl up against your leg while you watch a movie. Her absolute favorite toys are the laser pointer and her feather wand. She could go after them for hours if you let her.

This lively gal has a huge personality and loves to play, but is not a fan of other cats—hence her listing as suitable for “only cat” status. She may do okay with dogs, but has never met one.

Nora has perfect litter box manners, and she uses her scratching posts and cardboard scratchers instead of the furniture. If you are a tortie lover and understand that kooky personality, she’s the girl you’ve been looking for!
