Here at Milwaukee Record we employ a sentient machine known as the Great Job, Milwaukee! Bot. It keeps track of the city’s many appearances on dopey online lists and studies, as well as any time a national publication acknowledges our pathetic Midwest existence. Enjoy!

November is a nice month, isn’t it? You’ve got football, you’ve got Thanksgiving, you’ve got…um, er, what else? Veterans Day? Gun deer season? Um…

Oh yeah: travel prices “plummet and crowds thin out” during the first two weeks of the month, apparently. That’s according to Good Housekeeping, who recently put together a list of the “20 Best Places in the World to Visit in November.” And wouldn’t you know it, Milwaukee made the list! Along with [throws darts] New York City; Nashville, Tennessee; Paris, France; Barcelona, Spain; Reykjavík, Iceland; and more!

Does the Milwaukee blurb mention beer and cheese in the first few sentences? YOU BET YOUR GOOD HOUSEKEEPING ASS IT DOES.

For a culture-filled Midwestern getaway, look no further than Milwaukee. While the city is known for its cheese curds and beer, it offers way more than that.

“The overall vibe is fantastic,” says a Good Housekeeping staff member who recently visited. “Everyone knows Milwaukee for beer but every single cup of coffee I had there was fantastic. The food was really solid all around too.” Visitors can dine at prominent spots like Sanford, a critically acclaimed restaurant that features a surprise tasting menu with seven courses.

Also check out ARIA, which is housed on the second floor of the cool and contemporary Saint-Kate: The Arts Hotel, for artisanal Midwest cuisine. Our staffer also stayed at the hotel, which has art exhibits on the first floor. She says, “There were crayons and rolls of butcher paper in our room for drawing, which I thought was a neat touch in an art-themed hotel.”

So there you go! Fantastic vibes, fantastic coffee, solid food, and crayons and butcher paper at Saint Kate! All best enjoyed in November! Great job, Milwaukee!
