In case you missed it, the 100-foot Bob Uecker mural in downtown Milwaukee is finished, and it’s incredible. So let’s party!
On Tuesday, June 30, Milwaukee Downtown will throw a “tailgate-themed” party to commemorate the completion of the mural. The party will include remarks from Mayor Cavalier Johnson, artist Mauricio Ramirez, and folks from the Milwaukee Brewers. Members of the Uecker family will also be in attendance.
And here’s where the tailgate theme comes in. According to a press release: “The first 500 guests of legal drinking age will have the opportunity to enjoy a can of Miller Lite, courtesy of Molson Coors, for a celebratory toast. After the program, 500 brats will be distributed along with ballpark snacks and bottled water. Entertainment and games will be provided by the Milwaukee Brewers Dance Crew, Street Team, DJ James, Bernie Brewer, Barrelman, and the Famous Racing Sausages.”
The mural is located on the north facade of the Wintrust Financial Center, 731 N. Jackson St. But since it actually faces Mason Street, let’s say 506 E. Mason St. (That’s the address of the Subway across the street.)
Here’s the complete schedule of events for the party. Oh, and if it rains or whatever, it’ll be held the next day, Wednesday, July 1.
