Every so often, Milwaukee Record uses its platform to alert readers to interesting and unusual online auctions and give folks the opportunity to be the secondhand owner of rare treasures like Rocky Rococo signage, bar and restaurant equipment galore, gigantic dinosaur statues, and even a whole-ass boat that briefly captivated the city. And far less often, there are two weird online auctions of local interest that occurring at the exact same time. This is one of those occasions.

This week, prospective buyers will be able to place bids on a variety of items from two unusual online auctions. The first such auction is for “The Brother Ron Collection,” which is said to feature items belonging to the infamous “Brother Ron” (a.k.a. “The Jesus Car Guy” who spent decades cruising around downtown Milwaukee in a station wagon plastered with crazy Bible shit). According to Cream City Clean Out, the local character “recently relocated from his longtime home and was unable to bring all his belongings,” so they’re selling off some of those items.

“The Brother Ron Collection” will feature “dozens of his signature homemade gospel signs, megaphones which likely were once fixed to his Jesus car, and a plethora of items from his everyday life.” The 24-hour auction will be held on Cream City Clean Out’s Facebook page “ONLY” beginning at 6 p.m. CST tonight (October 20). Bids will be made in $10 increments and shipping (paid by the buyer) is available to all 48 contiguous states. The end is nigh…at least when it comes to this auction.

On the exact opposite of the spectrum, we’ve also been alerted to the existence on an ongoing auction for items from On The Border, a gentleman’s club in nearby Franklin that had its liquor and entertainment licenses revoked earlier this year amid a years-long prostitution and sex-trafficking investigation.

If you’re able to successfully execute the mental gymnastics required to somehow justify owning something associated with On The Border, you’ll be able to bid on hundreds of items in this Badger Corporation Auction that range from expected strip club inventory like stages, poles, provocative prints and paintings, a “Health Mart” vending machine, and even the exterior sign of the business itself to far less risqué inventory like televisions, lighting, exterior benches, a flag pole, soap and paper towel dispensers, and much more.

The auction is active now. There are hundreds of items available and bidding on lots begin to close starting at 10:30 a.m. CST on Tuesday, October 27.

Happy bidding and good luck…we guess.
