Even though Milwaukee’s craft brewing scene is currently in a rather uncertain place following the recent closure of a few breweries and the sudden acquisition of others, there are still encouraging and fun things happening in local beer. One such example of this here in the early days of 2025 is an unexpected and all-around awesome collaboration between Broken Bat Brewing Co. and Milwaukee Bucks guard AJ Green on a new signature beer.
Yes, the brewery is honoring the Bucks sharpshooter with a cream ale called “Green Light” that was made in partnership with Green. Beyond getting Green’s okay to make the beer, “Dairy Bird” himself will be on-site at Broken Bat to celebrate its release. On Saturday, January 18 from 7-9 p.m., fans are invited to stock up on Green Light and meet the beer’s namesake. There will be opportunities to take pics with the Bucks fan favorite, but Broken Bat asks that attendees “please make sure to leave memorabilia at home and just enjoy hangin’ with AJ for a few hours.”
If you can’t make next Saturday’s release event but still want some Green Light in your life, worry not! It will be available at Broken Bat for the remainder of the Bucks season.
