Last week, we hipped you to the wonderful/ridiculous “Christian Yelich,” a 2018 Milwaukee Brewers postseason anthem that sports the line “Let ’em hate ’cause we got the juice / Poppin’ bottles with Bob Ueck.” Seven years ago, we should have hipped you to the wonderful/ridiculous “(We Are) The Brew Crew,” a 2011 Milwaukee Brewers postseason anthem that’s a takeoff on Motörhead’s “(We Are) The Road Crew.” Sure, we weren’t around in 2011, but whatever.

Performed by the band Crotch, the song/video is a metal-rific collection of Graffito references (“Graffito’s breadsticks are so fine / His meatball panini is divine,”) Graffito-era pictures of Ryan Braun (see above), and shout-outs to long-gone Brewers players like John Axford and Nyjer Morgan. Also: BEAST MODE.

“(We Are) The Brew Crew” was uploaded to YouTube on October 12, 2011—right in the middle of the National League Championship Series between the Brewers and the St. Louis Cardinals. The Brewers came up short in that series, but this song/video lives on as a delightful time capsule of what was and what could have been.

And if Crotch is looking for a Motörhead song to spoof in 2018, might we suggest “Live To Win,” “The Hammer,” or “The Chase (Anderson) Is Better Than The Catch.”
