My favorite night of television is today! Where and how are you celebrating the Oscar's Milwaukee?
Not that anyone asked, but I always strive to watch every best picture nomination at the very least. Here is my ranking from personal favorite to least favorite (thought I found all of them to be entertaining this year).
-Sinners
-One Battle After Another (will win)
-Train Dreams
-Bugonia
-Sentimental Value
-The Secret Agent
-Frankenstein
-Marty Supreme
-Hamnet
-F1
I haven't seen Train Dreams or Sentimental Value, but I'm guessing Sinners will clean up? I'm weirdly allergic to award shows these days, but I'm sure I'll peek in a few times tonight.
Also, seeing One Battle After Another on the big screen (in 70mm!) at the (sold-out!) Oriental was one of those things I'll never forget. MKE is so, so lucky to have MKE Film.
@matt-wild I was also lucky to catch it on 70mm! I strive to attend as many 70mm film screenings as possible and I'm grateful the Oriental still has a home for that format.
